Principal's Message

Welcome Back Portola Panther Families!

Dear Portola Families and Students,

It is with great enthusiasm and honor that I write to you as the new principal of Portola Elementary School. I hope this letter finds you enjoying the last few days of summer break with your family and friends.   As I step into this new role, I am filled with excitement and determination to build on the school’s strong foundation and hit the ground learning.

I want to welcome each and everyone of you back to the 24-25 school year. The staff and I cannot wait to work with you this year. I am confident it is going to be a fabulous year of growth at Portola.

I come to Portola with a deep passion for education and a strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.  My primary goal is to ensure that every student receives an exceptional education that not only equips them with academic knowledge but also nurtures their character, creativity, and critical thinking skills. 

Our staff has been preparing for the upcoming school year. Classrooms have been cleaned, organized and prepared to welcome the students on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 14. Please click here to access the beginning of the school year information.

Ventura Unified School District is asking all parents to complete the annual updates online this year. To assist parents with the update, the district has created a link to take you directly to the Parent Connect Page. In addition to this link, we are hosting “open houses” for parents to come into the office for assistance in completing the annual updates. 

I understand that a school is not just about academics; it's also about personal growth, extracurricular activities, and community engagement. I am committed to providing a well-rounded educational experience that allows our students to explore their interests and talents outside the classroom, ensuring they develop into the best version of themselves. 

 As we embark on this journey together, I assure you that my door is always open. I am eager to listen to your feedback and work collaboratively to enhance the overall learning experience for our students. Together, we will create an environment where every child feels valued, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential.

 I look forward to meeting each one of you in the coming days and working closely with our dedicated team of educators to make a positive impact on the lives of our students. I look forward to making this academic year at Portola a truly memorable one!
